My Very Best Friend and Her Kiddos!

For those who don’t know, this is “My Very Best Friend” Amanda and her kids!  First we have Alyssa, she is the oldest and growing oh so fast!  Just looking at her make my heart break and then swell with pride all at the same time.  It is unbelievable the way the time flies as we get older.  Alyssa reminds me to stay in the moment and soak up every little thing around me.  I usually don’t write things that have any kind negative content but seeing her makes me wish we lived closer because I feel like I am missing it!!!  Alyssa is amazing!  Then there is Preslee, she is so gifted.  This girl is 7 and can read beyond the 8th grade level!  She writes songs all the time and if you are paying attention you often see her sitting, just thinking.  I am not sure how to explain it, the way she looks while sitting and thinking,  I can’t tell you how many “snaps” I have taken of her doing this.  In fact, I think I might make one blog “All About Preslee”.   Then you will all see and understand.  Now we have Rylan, this first “snap” is exactly how I see Rylan and his girls!  Yes I said “his girls”.  That is what they are, I don’t even know that they see it the way I do.  He will grow to make some girl (one of my girls it has been planned from birth) very happy simply because he is surrounded by so much love from his mother and his sisters, he only has love to give.  That’s all we need, right?  Now of coarse I will tell you about Amanda!  For those who know us well we are COMPLETE opposites!!!  They say that opposites attract, clearly, in this case it is true.  We completely balance each other.  We teach the other to see the other side.  Big things small things, it doesn’t matter she is the first person I call.  I always tell her that if I ever lost her in any way it would be like my arm fell off!  I can’t imagine my life without her,  I am so glad you are here Amanda, thank you for being “My Very Best Friend”!

Happy Birthday Cora!

My sweet and sassy Cora is three!  Sweet because she is always snugly and kissy, telling me she loves Mommy and Daddy and Weda and of coarse…herself!  Sassy because…well, where should I begin?  I will just talk about her closet!  “I don’t yike all of my clothes” she tells me.  So for her birthday when people asked what to get her I told them pretty dresses.  I think they may have thought I was crazy, no kid wants clothes for their birthday!  Especially at three, my Cora does though she has tried on almost every outfit she got for her birthday, every dress paired with a tutu of coarse.

I would also like to briefly talk about that sweet little cake on the surf board.  Most would think that it got beat up while in the Atlantic catching some waves, the real story is the back part of the cake is gone.  You can’t see it in the picture but our dog Manny seems to like cream cheese frosting.  I guess I can’t blame him.  All of the other sweet blemishes are from Cora and a few of her friends.  The thought did cross my mind to can the “cake on the board picture” that I had in my mind for weeks, but I love it!  The messy cake makes me love the this “snap” even more and it reminds me of how much I love basking in the presence of my kids.  I hope I can always remember this feeling in my tummy as I am sharing this with all of you and I hope I always remember “My Girls” as they are right now…..

A Bella Bouquet

Oh the “snaps” I could shower you with from this shoot!  I got a phone call from my friend Laura, owner of “A Bella Bouquet” on Friday night and on Saturday there I was at one of the prettiest places for a wedding, taking photos of the prettiest flowers for a wedding.  There was an ancient oak tree with giant swooping branches covered in ferns and Spanish moss where Laura and her crew hung ivy and orchids along with ribbon and beautiful arrangements.  This is one of my favorite days as far as taking pictures goes.  I just wondered and snapped.  Flowers are so easy.  They didn’t look me in the eye asking me what they should do, they just knew, kinda like kids!  Thank you Laura for such a great afternoon.  Oh!  and congratulations to the bride and groom!

P.S. the flower girl baskets were made by one of Laura’s crew members (her mama) out of straw hats!  Super Cute!
