My Bedroom, A Work in Progress

Every time we move I have to rethink our entire house.  I usually do our bedroom last. Which means that it never gets done!  NOT THIS TIME!  If your bedroom, the place were you start your glorious days, is not a peaceful and restful place, a happy place, a sanctuary,  how can we have a peaceful and happy day, right?  Here it is,  our soon to be sanctuary, my “work in progress” wish me luck and enjoy!

The yellow shelf I have had since before my kids were born.  It is usually sitting outside covered in plants and rust.  Braiden has always hated it.  I don’t know if he likes it yellow and in our room either  but I love it!  The jewelry box turned cell phone station I bought for $3 at goodwill and remade also.  Not so bad if I do say so myself……

As for the little ikea mirror, I got it at goodwill for $2.  When I bought it, it was a bright tealish color.  Ok but too plain and bright for me.  I roughed it up, painted the art on it, stained it, and glued the Budda penant on it and put it on the shelf!  LOVE IT!  So much I can’t stop looking at it!  I hope it has the same affect on you!

My Big First Grader!

Oh how they grow!!!!!  These are her first grade photos taken by me, her mommy!  As you can see her pants are a little too long in these “snaps”.  These were taken at the beginning of September, now the pants fit her perfectly!  I cannot stand it.  We all at many points in our little one’s littleness wish that they would  just slow down, just a little bit.  This is one of those moments for me.  Everyday I look at her and I am amazed at her pure loveliness.  She loves school and everyday she comes home and asks me if she has school the next day.  Last Saturday her daddy tried to tell her that she was late for school, she started to panic just a little bit and he told her he was joking.  She said in a nervous voice, “Do you know what would happen if I wasn’t there?” Her daddy said,” What?”   She said, (singing) “Good morning Veda are you here?”  The class would sing, “No Mrs. Sanday she’s not here.” (she sang this in a very high pitched oooOOOOOoooo that would be the worst thing in the world voice)  I love her so much and I am so glad she is mine.

Canning is SO FUN!

Soooo……I don’t know if it is just because I am new but, I LOVE CANNING!  These are my first raspberries, sweetened with agave.  They turned out quite yummy.  Even my grammy liked them.  Yesterday Jessy and I were knee deep in blueberries.  Syrup and jam.  Srcumditiliumcious!
